August is not the end of seaside satisfaction in Margate! ♥♥
From gargantuan sand structures in the RIBA Sandcastle challenge to performances using our natural cliff formations and everything you couldn’t even imagine in between, The Margate Festival is fit to burst with tempting performance, art, experiences and exhibitions.
Pull up a beach chair and select your seaside adventure; venues are throughout Margate and Cliftonville and some are in unlikely places such as Seaside Shelters and the Dreamland Ferris Wheel. Notable events include:
- The Roundabout Festival– A pop-up flat-packed theatre by the sea showing critically-acclaimed performances directly from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
- Heritage Open Days– An event in its own right! A celebration of our seaside architecture, local history and culture with over 30 individual exhibitions, open buildings and tours.
- Artbreak Hotel– Workshops, live art, performance, interaction, participation and good times, with an Art Party every Saturday designed by the artist in residence of the week. All at the effervescent new space in Cliftonville- the Margate Arts Club.
These are just the tiniest snippet of what’s on offer this September. Including all individual events, it looks like there might be close to 100 things to experience! What are you waiting for?
